Block & Crown
Block & Crown who certainly has got its finger on the pulse of the Funky House scene at the Moment, It’s been a massive 2025 & January 26 for the genre, and seeing those tracks dominate the Funky House charts is really highlighting how the classic 90s sound is being reinvented for 2026. Block & Crown’s Pump Up the Jam hitting No. 2 on the Funky House Chart Beatport in only 2 weeks is amazing. B&C version manages to keep that iconic 1989 Technotronic energy while giving it that signature Block & Crown heavy-groove polish. And I think we can safely say one of best versions ever • Why it works: They’ve preserved the Techno-pop vocals but swapped the original 124 BPM breakbeat style for a driving, modern funky house bassline that’s designed for peak-time floors. • Release Date: It officially dropped on January 9, 2026, on the DIAMM label and shot up the Beatport charts almost instantly. A short by the way Jens Lissat label manager (and his various label imprints like Studio3000, DIAMM Tik Tone, and Acetone are taking 8 of the Top 10 spots on this week’s chart is genuinely historic. Lissat has been a powerhouse since the early 90s (his Interactive days), but his current workaholic phase is on another level. • Studio3000, Tactical Records, Tiktone etc has his ecosystem currently in the gold standard for Funky and Tech House. • Managing 60+ labels is a mean feat and still maintaining top-tier quality control is why he’s often called the Godfather of the scene.
